Hi all. I'm a newbie to this forum and to UAVs in general. I'm working on a project and wanted to reach out to a knowledgeable group of drone enthusiasts, professionals, industry bodies, etc to get some information that could help guide the project. I've gone through a bit of this forum already and found some really valuable info. I was hoping that you might be willing to give me your thoughts on the following:
1) In your opinion, what are the challenges that the drone industry in South Africa currently faces? Consider all the various players in the industry, such as pilots, regulators, air traffic authorities, law enforcement agencies, etc.
2) Are you currently or planning in the future to make money from your drone? If so, how is it working out for you?
Thanks in advance.

Well your intentions or curiosity is great and questions are welcome. But the truth is that you are most likely not going to get your answers here and that you would have seen if you did read previous thread.
All that is going to happen is the trolls are going to feast on your interest. So hold on it may be a rough ride or perhaps they may surprise and we can have some informative learning.
Let's give it a few days and see, If there are no direct replies to your questions I will assist you off line.

Save your sanity for something that will bring you Great success, if you really want to know the reality of the situation, the answers have been given over and over already, and absolutely nothing has changed since then:Bobster wrote: Tue Jul 09, 2019 10:31 pm Hi all. Overseas the future is bright and the regulation understands the technology and what actually needs to be in place for it to work, in South Africa, they don't bother worrying about advancements and how to grow industry much, it's happy go lucky for them, their palms are greased enough not to have a care in the world.

Indeed the trolls are those providing False hope and with preset hidden intentions or those wanting to be the "good look" man feeding the backward thinking regulation to please the one's they rely on so dearly.Multirotordronepilot wrote: Wed Jul 10, 2019 8:26 am Well your intentions or curiosity is great and questions are welcome. Trolls are not those providing you with the truth and helping you to avoid possibly a very tough time ahead.
Also the truth is given openly, publicly not behind the scenes, it's got nothing to hide.

Any opinions about the topic are welcome. I'm doing customer research, so all opinions are valid, no matter if those opinions are not shared by others.
