The Cubby Maverick frame is done welded, we finished painting the frame today. Next week we will start the Renegade and Maverick builds alongside each other, and take "time lapse" photos as we progress.

Renegade and Maverick airframes next to each other. During the build of these two aircraft the differences will become quite clear.

Hi Leo, my AP work is keeping me very busy,...not complaining.... The workshop is what carries us so we need to focus there for the moment, but there is light in the tunnel. We will be back to the Cubby build in a month or so from now.

Great to hear the workshop is busy Jean. Must show that guys are flying a bit more and hopefully GA is on the slow uptick again.

Finished manufacturing the main-gear legs for the Renegade today. The gear is quite a lot stronger than the original gear, and a lot longer.
Will post some photos next week.

...very nice Jean, still bungees or shocks?

Leo these gear legs can use either, remove the bungee rods and replace with the shock.

Short update: We have had quite an influx of maintenance jobs, and some customer projects to finish, but...in-between we have been busy on our own builds. We are busy covering the tail-groups of the Renegade and the Maverick. Will post photos later in next week.

:D We have this morning finalized the design of the flap lever for both the Renegade and the Maverick. As soon as it is manufactured I will post some photos of it. The flap lever will be to the left of the pilot in the roof area, so the pilot will raise his left hand off the throttle , upwards 8 inches and have the flap lever in hand. The right hand stays on the joystick and operates the trim and the PTT.
Slotted flaps will deploy to 30 deg max.

We want Pix, we want Pix  I like the overhead flap system. Jean Hope you had a look at the cub crafters system for simplicity, only one pushrod between flap lever and the flap itself.

Hans we have a torque tube running just above the front spar carry-through, with a horn at each end, to which there is attached 2 Bowden cables that run into the wings, and then at the end of which is a rod end, attached to each flap . Simple with a low parts count, and fail safe. The flap lever is attached to the torque tube, and also the 3 stage indent-plate.

Here are some preliminary design pics, this is how the flap lever will look and be positioned. Now to manufacture the actual item and see how it functions :D
