This has taken a bit longer than expected as we did have some delays, now we are well under way and here are some photos of the actual product . Next we will connect the lever mechanism to the wing and the flap itself . Then we will use a protractor to set the angle of the flap, and then only make the position indent at the lock-pin slide, for the given flap angle setting.[/attachment]

:( I have a problem with my PC and have asked my friend V5-LEO to post some photos of our progress. The tailgroup has been covered and rigged, the electric horizontal stab trim has been fitted and tested after some modifications. Tomorrow we manufacture the baggage box and baggage door. This aircraft has a baggage door on the starboard side , for access to the baggage area.Today we ordered the aluminium sheets for the cladding of the wings. As we progress more photos will be uploaded.

Here are some photos to show how usable our baggage area is. A door on the right-hand side gives access to the baggage are. As can be seen a 25L can fits through the access door, and fits neatly in the baggage area. The adjustable horizontal stabilizer takes care of trim issues.

Looking good Jean!

Guys are always wanting more space volume, not so much for weight, but for long or lightweight items (fishing rods and sleeping bags.) Have you considered an "extended baggage" rack as a possible future option?

Hi Jason, yes that is a consideration, although we can custom make it for a customer at any time......till before the fabric goes on

Some more photos of our progress. We are building a Renegade and a Maverick simultaneously, so the differences will become more evident.Enjoy.

Some more photos of our progress, inspection holes measured out, and hard points fitted with the inspection covers made. Three cotes Nitrate sprayed on. One pic shows the 6061 wing skins for the Renegade, the Maverick will still have a fabric skinned wing. Next is Silver Butyrate.

We have been quiet but busy :D .
We have had an aeronautical engineer assist us with the maths for working out the loads on the flaps. With this we have done a limit load test and are happy to say that there was no buckling or deformation at limit load. Also the "pull test" on the flap lever was within our estimates and proved to be in line with the maths.
We have also had some carbon fiber parts made for certain areas on the aircraft , but will show photos only once assembly is complete.

The project is still underway, the spar caps and wing skin stringers are being cut and bent to spec. We have also secured the ideal engine for the Renegade.....a(turbocharged)Rotax 912 RST of 122hp :D

......I was privvy to have a sneak peek into the "skunkworx" flap and aileron mechanics on the wing of the Renegade buildt. Man it is a work of art, safe, simple and reliable systems being used to guarantee the pilot ease of mind w.r.t. safety and not afraid to use and fly the aircraft to its full potential. Materials used are top class and the redundencies in that regard is been taking care off - definately a big thumps up to Jean and his team.

A snapshot to make your mouth drool 😁

Very impressive all around Jean. I have not checked in for a while so it was awsome to see all of the recent progress in one go.

I think you have two winners here and I cant wait to see the performance of the Maverick. =D> =D>
