Due to the current situation and timelines we, after having discussions with all the relevant parties made a decision to move the show back by a few months to the 26th of September 2020. should anything change or there be further developments we will keep everybody informed.

I take silence as either a no (its not happening anymore) or that nobody knows. Either way, communication from the organisers is very poor. The Facebook page has very little activity and the website doesn't exist. Doesn't fill me with confidence that this event is happening.

Did you at any point try and make contact the the organizers or Air Show South Africa, by mail whats app, message or a call, all the details ae there. I think that you should also consider the situation we ae currently in, would you like to make a prediction as to when the restrictions on events will be lifted?

Last year July and August I was planning a trip to the George in late September and hoped that my visit could overlap with the airshow. At the time I scoured the internet (including Facebook) to find more details about whether it was still happening. I posted a question here on 13 Jul and then my follow-up post on 23 August, after I could not get any updates as to whether the event was still on. No, I did not try to contact the organizers or Air Show South Africa. I had assumed details would be posted online. In any event, I understand the situation you and all other event organisers are in and appreciate all the effort and energy that goes into organising an event like this. My sincere hope is that we can get over Covid 2nd and 3rd wave in the next few months and look forward to a Garden Route Airshow later this year. I'll be there if it happens.

Thanks Stephan, once we know what is going on we will let everyone know, at this point it is just not cost effective to redo websites and everything else until we have some clarity.

We as the organizers of the Garden Route air show have after discussions with Air Show South Africa and after seeing what the other air shows that had been scheduled, have made the decision to postpone the show until we have more clarity from government in regards to the holding of public events.

Please note that we are not cancelling the event as we see it as a vital contribution to the tourism industry and economy of the Western and Southern Cape. As soon as there is clarity we will put in place a new date.
