ZU-AOJ Revamp

Unread post by Yakpilot »

Hi all, I bought ZU-AOJ from Andre Grobler in February this year. The KIS TR1 made a ferry flight on 20 Feb from Bloem to Wonderboom. It was apparently built by Peter Howe, not sure when. I have decided to do a complete revamp on the aircraft. New engine (O-320 engines installed now is a 0-290), new paint scheme, new interior and a glass cockpit with AP. The reason for this is that this plane is a great performer (a poor man’s RV I would say) and need a face-lift. I will appreciate any old photos that you might have of AOJ. I will post every now and then photos as the revamp progress.

Why a lot of sanding on what I thought to be a well built aircraft?

Jan after all the years the aircraft needs some TLC to get it in tip-top condition again.
