SP 120 Seat improvements

Unread post by foxdog »

Hi Guys,
Since the SP 120 is an entry level and the smallest Jabiru available I find the seat is much the same.
I am 183cm tall and weigh 100 kg and find after a 3 hour flight that the seat is running out of comfort.
This is probably due to the thin padding and below shoulder height backrest.
I tried putting a 50 mm sheet of foam under the cover but that caused my head to touch the roof.
What I would like to ask you guys does Jaburu sell an aftermarket improved seat cover and a backrest improvement or is there a modification one can do.
I try and do a few leg and back stretches in flight but these are hampered with the aircraft tied onto my back.
I would appreciate any ideas
Regards,

Foxdog, I flew a SP until fairly recently.
I am 197cm tall and had to take out the padding under the seat cover just to be able to get into the aircraft. The seat covers were sheep skin and even without padding l found the comfort to be adequate. And yes, my head touched the roof lining but after a while l did not even notice.
Perhaps you can look at a sheep skin type of cover if you don’t already have one. Alternatively contact the factory in George for advice.

Hi Ican,
Thanks for the reply that must have been a tight fit.
I think that the problem lies in the back rest being very short
