Where did you buy ? And is yours EU limited to 500m or do you have the US version that gives you unlimited 4km range ?

I have also been looking at this for months now.....
@German did you have any of the previous Mavic's/Phantom's for a kind of comparison?
would you mind sharing your thoughts on stability(have you tried to fly in high winds) and the lack of sensors for obstacle avoidance

This is my first drone and it is really easy to fly. I have no previous experience also dont know much about photography. The farthest I have flown it was 100m at 40m height as I beleive in line of sight and it is small and believe me you get scared when you cant see it. I am really impressed with it in windy conditions, having flown radio controlled models and fixed wing aircraft.
I think I saw some where something about a CEE model.

. My first drone, I love it, camera is OK but would love a zoom, very impressed with it, get 20min + flight time and have been 3km away (over a farm standing on a small hill), it won't go over 500m High,
I see no need for obstacle sensors
Clearly Weekends are made in china . They simply dont last !

mavic mini is Way over priced for what you get, i considered it until i saw the

Xiaomi FIMI X8 SE 2020

4k video advertised, 33 min fight time.

More powerful so can better handle windy situations.

O and not the puny limited range you get with the mini.

It not the first time its come up, but I want the portability of the Mini, I do want a FCC version if it were possible, but who needs to fly more than 1 km with a sub 250g drone.

Yes cost wise you would compare it to the mini, but spec wise its more of a mavic pro.
While the X8 se is currently on special for R8k you cant buy additional batteries as they don't ship(R1200 each, if you could)
The issue with the xiaomi is spares and support. I like the brand but not enough of a user base locally.

Portability not that much of an issue the mavic mini and xiaomi X8 SE 2020 are small already.
I and many others can do with more than 1km range because, you don't always get the range advertised ever, i don't fly to the full range however, i always find that i need more range in certain circumstances so to have extra range is always good not to mention safer.

I have done my research and the problem with the mini also is its not powerful enough to overcome stronger winds, so you can only fly on relatively calm days.

Yes X8 SE 2020 spares are not available locally however i don't intend on doing a lot of crashing, i would buy extra props with the drone as well as an extra battery if really needed, but range is already good on one.

Anyway, the mini has a good find my drone feature, that i would give it, and bit smaller yes, however the advantages of the X8 SE 2020 far outweighs the benefits of the mavic mini to myself.
