Garmin Pilot Weight & Balance

I want to set up the Weight & Balance for a Jabiru J430 in the Garmin Pilot app. I have a couple of challenges and I am not getting a timely response from Garmin support. Perhaps someone here can help me?

Negative Station Arm Length/Distance:
The front seats of the J430 are forward of the aircraft empty COG. When entering the Station information for this it will not allow you to enter an arm length with a negative value. Anyone else had to deal with this and found a way to deal with it?

Envelope Entry:
When entering the forward and aft envelope details the units (Weight in Kg & Moment in Kg.mm) in the form make sense and are correct. However, upon completing the form the graph showing the envelope uses different units for the moment. However, there is no rational to these units as the chart is unitless and some typical conversions to other units (Garmin Pilot has a habit changing units on its own) make no sense of the result shown on the graph. The nett result is that the graph is ‘wrong’ and so any W&B calculations later are miles of off the envelope resulting in a calculation that does not comply.

Your stations ( arms) are usually measured from a datum in front of the craft going towards the tail, not from the aircraft's c of g

Correct. So instead of working from the aircraft empty CG position, as this position is a variable. Create a datum point from a known position such as 1000mm ahead of the wing leading edge / firewall / propeller flange etc then all values should be positive behind that Datum Point.

Problem solved. Firstly, there is nothing unusual about negative arms on a W&B sheet or calc. On the Jab the datum is on the leading edge of the wing, not ideal but it works for them. The front seats are forward of this point and hence the negative arm.

The problem comes down to the Android version of the Garmin Pilot (GP) app. It does not accept negative values for the arm. Ahhhh, but the iOS version does. So, install GP onto an iPad (borrowed), login with GP credentials, setup aircraft with W&B, sync aircraft to GP cloud, open app on Android device, sync down from the GP cloud and WALLAAA, it works.

Entering a positive station but a negative weight wouldn't give you the same numbers?

Probably the numbers differ and that's why they couldn't include them
