Some news regarding FlySafair's plans.
- They will not be operating the 737 MAX until the first secondhand MAXes go on the market in a few years.
- No big expansion both fleet/routewise is planned, but rather "focus on identifying strategic routes and refining its fleet".
- A newer 737-800 will be replacing ZS-FGA/FGB next month.
- More 737-800s will be replacing older -400s/-800s, with replacements being secured for September.

A source supposedly confirmed that SAA was going to lease A350-900s, although take it with a grain of salt.
Different sources in the aviation industry said the procrastination had led to SAA leasing back some of the Airbus nine A350-900 aircraft it had sold in 2020, to keep its place in the routes queue as competitors scramble for the licences it is not using.

“SAA just launched the Brazil route, next is Perth. SAA does not have the long-range aircraft for those destinations, they were waiting on the R3 billion from Takatso. So now they are leasing back the A9s (Airbus A350-900) they sold in 2020, just to hold the routes,” the source said.
In other news, ZS-YAX now has full Airlink colors.

I think a truckload of salt is required!!!
SAA never owned 1, let alone 9 A350’s! You cannot sell something you don’t own!
They only leased 4.

I think here "A9" is a codename or shortening of the A350-900, not that they had nine of them. It's a weird one for sure - I've never seen it rendered like that before.

No, the article clearly says that 9 A350 were sold by SAA, which is obviously complete rubbish.

As per the "Seen at FAGG: George (Western Cape)" thread, ZS-JRM is now in the new FlySafair colors. This leaves WMP as the last old livery FlySafair 737-400.

SAA will receive 4 x A320 in the next 4 months. First one will arrive in the next week or two. Heard 3 will be from the Philippines and 1 from China.

ZS-FGA doing a test flight before heading up. Probably her last flight with her ZS- reg. She was the second-oldest still-operating passenger 737-800.
