Good day
Does anyone have any information on the state of Cradock?
Alternatively is there any other airfields close to Cradock that will be a better option?
Thanks in advance.

Chris Troskie’s field is a little way down the Fish valley from Cradock, just before Cookhouse.

Re: Cradock Airfield
I haven't flown there for probably more than two years now.
I used to land at the town airfield, but for some unknown reason, they started re-surfacing it, way back, from the center outwards? And then the money ran out.
The result was that there was a 400 meter section, in the middle of the runway, that was nice and smooth, with two 400 meter (approximately) sections, one at each end, that was usable, but overgrown and quite rough.
OVK's MD used to fly into Cradock with a Kingair 90, but I'm not sure whether they still do.
My alternative, which I mostly used, was about 15 nm north of Cradock, right next to the main road. Lovely runway on the farm Burnside, which belongs to William Walker. Unfortunately, I don't have his contact details anymore and i can't confirm the current state of the runway.

Re: Cradock Airfield
I was at Cradock this week. The runway is definitely unusable.
He who rows the boat is too busy to rock it

I have not been there in a year but understand that it is not usable. Queenstown is great and has an active club, plus car hire in the town. It’s about 110 km to Cradock from there but at least your aircraft will survive the landing and be safe until you return!
