Mid year 2022 UPDATE!!!

Team RCA are in full steam ahead mode, pushing for an August roll out... The amount of time taken to establish clear system locations, failure points, dual/triple redundancy options, testing, etc... goes along way in keeping this brute of an aircraft and it's crew/pax SAFE!

All panels have been pre-fitted, we're now completing the final systems installation including avionics (screens arrived from Dynon), 80% of the way! Next will be paint shop, fitting custom seats and onto the rollout for test flying.

Firewall Forward
  • Cowling - Custom scoop vents added for cooling (mount scrubbed up on cowl, added the cooling feature as a recovery)
  • Cowling - Custom cnc'd frame, installed around manifold
  • Cowling - Dipstick panel/access panel to rear engine

Systems
  • Under forward section of fuselage - Dual fuel pumps, fuel flow sensor, solenoid, water cooling pipes, over flow hydraulic brake fluid
  • Rear fuselage - Batteries (one located in the tail as backup and the other further forward), hydraulic pump, OONO reverse relay module, pressure sensing probes for up/down on gear, engine bridge hydraulic gear pressure system config, relay switch on the hydraulic pump (prevent a hyd pump burn out situation), starter solenoid.
Engine - Auto, linked to an ECU with an A and B side. Split the single coil wire and made it dual. Running all 8 cylinders on 1 coil was a NO GO (this was mentioned to Titan and they agreed with our design, suppose it will be used in updating their customer build files). Able to run 4 cylinders on A and the other 4 on B (dual redundancy). Limp home mode in the event there's a loss on 1 coil.

As a matter of interest, the current design setup is safer and contains redundancy that's far superior than the manufacturer (Titan) build file.

Avionics

Thanks to all those for their PM words of encouragement or questions I've answered which I thoroughly enjoyed engaging in.

Until the next update! Have a GREAT weekend :)

Looking awesome =D>
While you are busy add an external power connector. As CB50 has enough capacity to crank the engine and charge the battery.

September 2022 - Final Countdown

It's time for a New update. Progress may look slow but believe me the time it's taken to complete most systems and shave the sharp edges with a final polish is well worth the wait! "90% done, 90% to go"
  • First gear test - Able to monitor digitally as well as adjust the PSI on both the UP/DWN side.
  • Avionics - All electrical components wired, plugged in and NO SMOKE :D
  • Wings - Painted, .50 cal brownings blended into wing, anodized to give burnt effect.
  • Fuel - added connector in rear baggage compartment to allow Ferry option (turtlepack)
Current workings:
  • Fairings cut, glassed and molded to fit better than the ones received.
  • Cowling custom, wing tips custom, tail - In for spray
  • Fuselage right side being closed up (left already closed)
Painted and First Engine Run ETA mid October 8)
