Wow I am very happy with that outcome, but at the same time my EGO is struggling to process this
Other than a little more flare needed that was topnotch.

I hope he didn't pull that big handle on the panel thinking it was a hand brake.....Ugly Duckling wrote: ↑Wed May 11, 2022 7:59 amhttps://www.wpbf.com/article/florida-pb ... e/39957179

What do you mean, maybe he was aiming for a 3-point landingTrevor Duane wrote: ↑Wed May 11, 2022 8:44 amWow I am very happy with that outcome, but at the same time my EGO is struggling to process this![]()

That was a truly remarkable landing !!! Think of speed control, directional control, when to flare - getting them all right without ever once having done it before.
Wow !

Re: Passenger lands C208 Caravan after pilot has medical emergency
In MY OPINION the story should read, a PPL flying as a passenger in a Cessna 208 but not rated on the aircraft lands the plane safely after Pilot becomes incapacitated(deprived of capacity or natural power)
The ATC on duty just happened to be familiar with the operation and controls of Cessna 208 manage to instruct the pilot now flying the aircraft to a safe landing

I have also heard a report that the PIC had returned from his slumber prior to the landing...hmmmDutch1 wrote: ↑Thu May 12, 2022 10:08 amIn MY OPINION the story should read, a PPL flying as a passenger in a Cessna 208 but not rated on the aircraft lands the plane safely after Pilot becomes incapacitated(deprived of capacity or natural power)

Re: Passenger lands C208 Caravan after pilot has medical emergency
If I think back on my landings while training for my PPL, they were nowhere near as smooth as this one - so agree it seems almost too incredible to believe that this non-pilot passenger was able to handle ground-rush, flaring, ballooning, bouncing, etc.
