I find it interesting that Comair obviously knew about this decision much earlier in the day/evening already, but only advised the public late night. Earlier in the evening a Kulula -800 ferried from FALA to FAOR. The public will have to be very forgiving for Comair to survive this if/when they get going again.

BA & Kulula flights canceled.

Seems like they have a problem again.
This is not good for their brand.

After running a 30% off sale the whole day….

I’m sure the decision wasn’t made just before midnight that they were suspending

Looks financial this time which would be an indirect result of the previous grounding.

CemAir is ramping up to provide some capacity.

Initially for today, 3x Extra JNB-CPT-JNB, 3x JNB-DUR-JNB, one JNB-GRJ-JNB and one extra CPT-DUR-CPT. I assume more capacity will be added as necessary and if crew and equipment is available.

The deadline for investors to provide additional funding expired last night. No new funds were forthcoming.

One has to wonder about the competence of people ( in this case "Business Practitioners") that allows an airline to keep accepting bookings and payments when they know they are near the end of a slippery slope into oblivion. Could cause you to get somewhat p****d off.

An interesting if somewhat predictable situation.

So they essentially ran out of cash or more likely the likelihood of future cash. One cannot resist comparing this to the SAA situation that is operating in a similar fashion 😂

We all know how the two airlines differ however. But what we don’t know is where SAA is getting its “petrol & lunch money” money from. The “consortium” blew some wind a while back but nothing since.

Surely BA will pull the plug? Having a “fire sale” a couple of hours before the actual fire is most certainly going to be considered bad form 🙄
