Rwandair

Unread post by Glenn L »

Just returned from a conference in Rwanda.
Rwandair seem to be doing well in the African market and my first experiene was positive.
I flew on the CT-Harare-Kigali route in a Bus and Economy mix. CRJ900 and B738.
Pricing was on par with other airlines. Service was on point. Food commendable. Its classically African style and you need to be ok with that - overall a very good experience.
Kigali is clearly positioning itself as a destination point for international conventions.
The airport needs an upgrade though, capacity will be a problem.
The country is amazing. Safe. Clean. Well run. Some might say heavy handed, but I was pleased with the strong police visibility (its transformed since the dark days of the genocide).

Guys I have been flying Rwandair to and from Kigali but also using it as a link to other destinations for the past 12 years. Airlink and Rwandair my 2 favorite airlines in Africa

The flights are great, good and friendly crew both sides of the door and the hub in Kigali is super-efficient, awaiting a new airport in the planning for Kigali, they are planning to be serious competition for Kenya and ET

Kigali is super safe, the police presence ensures that it is safe to walk the streets, even at night on your own. Wonderful country and I only have good memories of working there

It's inspiring to hear good news out of Africa, let's hope it lasts. Got a friend flying there, he loves the way the country is heading.
