First Autonomous autorotation

These guys are doing some interesting stuff with retrofitting Fly by wire to helicopters.

Great stuff, now all they need to do is add the ability to select a safe landing area in the absence of a nice long runway straight ahead. Fly by wire??

They have a way to go.
If a light helicopter could auto dump the collective and hold a stable rpm, it could go a long way to improve safety or rather how many aircraft survive the attempt in the shape it originally started out as.
Still, reasonable achievement in a Bobbinson.

Or they could design helicopters to meet a sensible pilot intervention delay time specification in the event of an engine failure.
