I'm thinking of getting a Air 3, but noticed on the DJI map that half of my farm, including my house falls in a restricted area(red x). Which restrictions apply in this area?
The airport in question is the Polokwane International airport. which is 15km southwest of my house.
The reason for getting the drone is purely recreational.

The DJI restricted areas are not aligned to the SACAA areas and aviation laws, so cross compare that first from a legality perspective.
However also from a DJI perspective just NEVER update the restricted area data based after an update and it typically wont prevent you from flying. It will just ask you to acknowledge you are in a "restricted" area and you have limitations in height (typically 500m) and not so much on distance unless you are right next to the airport specifically. Flying recreationally the 500m height limitation wont be an issue for you.
But as always with DJI things do change often with firmwares etc.... I would suggest if you have a friend with a drone to test it out and see it it would work before investing and you are stuck with it.
As always, check this link for the high level breakdown of what you can do with your drone recreationally and be legal. My main point was that the DJI restriction zones are not the same as the SACAA laws and restrictions and you should always follow the SACAA ones over what DJI tells you is possible. (P.S) you wont be sad with a Mini 3 or 4 option of drone either, the 4 being nicer because it has an all in one C2 link device (transmitter) versus one you need to link your phone up to everytime.

Thanks a lot for the detailed response. is there a SACAA map that lists the restricted areas?
