My real name: Thomas Ignatius Muller
Swapped my goblin 380 for his goblin 280. He contacted me on my add saying he had a 280 that he can swap. My goblin 380 was flying perfectly. Any ways we done the deal. He said the 280 was flying perfectly fine as well. Once I received the 280 I setup the heli by keeping the flybarless controller settings as per his settings , but just programmed my transmitter to the controller. The heli had a bad tail vibration and the tail did not hold at all , would wag and randomly move 90 plus degrees, i tried multiple gain settings and it kept on doing this. Also to add I setup my throttle curves as per the sab 280 goblin manual. I contacted him regarding the tail issues and he said the heli flew perfectly fine with his settings and when he had it , he said he would check his pc and send them if he still has them. Not sure if he has, anyways the fbl controll maintains all settings from setup except for gyro gain from the tx? I spent the last two weeks trying to get the tail to hold , I got the tail vibration out but the heli just wouldn't hold properly, I was doing hovering today and with light pitch pumps to check the tail again , and the tail was still just doing what it always done. The heli then went into a locked piro and I couldn't correct it no mater what I tried, then had a hard landing with a boom strike. What I found now is his esc voltage setting was set to 7.4v which can only be done through a hobby wing programming card which I dont have, and now after googling I see the tail servo he had in there is only rated to 6v max. So the tail servo most probably locked in place or burnt out due to his bec setting which caused this. To add I done binding checks to make sure the tail servo isn't binding in max left or right positions.
In light of everything this heli was never flying properly prior to the swap and his bec voltage that was set incorrectly was an accident waiting to happen. To sum it up, Gideon you swapped me a lemon for my goblin 380.
This is low man.

Response to Mr T on 19 May via WhatsApp
Good day Thomas
First of all sorry for the late reply, I was away yesterday and only got around to this now.
After reading all you WhatsApp messages and post on avcom I am quite shocked on what you are trying to achieve and that you wouldn’t even give me time to respond. Let’s look at the facts.
1. We decided to start the swap conversation on 26 April
2. On 26 April at 12:13 I send you detailed pictures of the 280 , the whole heli with zoomed in pics of the tail and tail servo
3. Your reply was “tail servo is a henge, do you maybe have the SAB”…
4. I stated no and we agreed if I replace it with an SAB or something similar you would swap.
5. Sat 27 April I offered to pay for an SAB tail servo but found an align 525m which you agreed to you will take. I sent a video of how the servo functioned
6. On 30 April you stated “ I can 3D print a bracket to fit the 525m servo”
7. On 30 April I arranged for a family member to take my heli (280) up so that you could do a physical inspection and swap. You rejected this and wanted to use pudo, I agreed.
8. On 7 May you received the 280 and you stated “got the 280 as well all good”
9. On 11 May you sent me a message you were battling with the tail. I made suggestions on my historical setup. The last conversation was Friday 17 May where I was going to check gain settings. I haven’t been to my pc to check for a TX backup as yet (wanted to try and get you gain settings)
10. 18 May you sent me a pic of the crashed 280 and stated you were not happy. I swapped a lemon. You wanted your heli back
11. From your post on Avcom 19 May you made accusations about the bec voltage etc but you never changed the servo that you were not happy with? You elected to fly the heli and it crashed…. You also neglect to mention anything about the tail servo I supplied and your intention to swap this.
12. I was transparent on everything regarding the heli form day 1, our WhatsApp conversation proves this
Lets look at this logically:
- Whether you believe me or not the 280 flew perfectly. I am not a 3D pilot so probably never flew it like you. What I have learned from this is to demo or fly and take a video before swapping, will not make that mistake again.
- You were not happy with the tail servo. I gave you another one. You elected to fly it as is.
- I included all the parts you needed to rebuild the tail to SAB spec. Spindle, grips, blades ,servo etc.
- You had the heli for almost 2 weeks and crashed it. How do I know what changed or what mishaps might have happened?
- If you were not happy with the swap why wait 2 weeks , crash then want to swap back? Would a hobby shop replace a kit someone crashed?
- You are expecting to get your old heli back by swapping for a crashed one. This is not realistic
- The 380 is not without its faults, The dsmx receiver has multiple “signal out of specified signal range” errors. I have the logs to prove this as well. I had to swap it with a sat receiver before doing more than hovers. I elected to go through everything and fix before flying. If it crashed I would not have held you accountable, it would be my mistake to live with.
- Regarding the post on avcom, I am happy to pass this to the moderators. I have our whole WhatsApp conversations screenshots and willing to share with anyone that wants to look at this logically and not emotionally. I will also share the timeline and facts as stated above for people to make their own conclusion.
- BEC voltage. I don’t even have a programming card as mentioned. If this is the truth and in fact was the case that the voltage was to high I was unaware of this, as I stated I also got the heli in a swap deal. I flew it multiple times, the servo did not burn.
- No where did we agree on any guarantees or warranty regarding any of the items.
I am really sorry that you crashed your 280 but trying to blame me is not the right way Thomas. We could have done this differently but the comments and threats from your part is not fair. I really believe I am not in the wrong and that I was like stated above transparent from the start.
Awaiting your response and happy to engage further.
Regards
Gideon

Hi Gideon
Like you said it's not worth it to fight over toys.
I think lesson learned for us both we should have test flown or demo'd prior to swapping. Hind sight is always 20/20
All the best
Regards,
Thomas
