Having lived in the UK for nearly 4 years now, I have started to gather a hefty amount of pics of UK based aircraft.
I attend airshows fairly regularly and also do a bit of airfield hopping so thought you might be interested in getting a glimpse of what goes on this side of the world.
I will add pics as and when and if anyone wishes to add any of their photos taken in the UK then all the better.
Starting with RIAT - pics taken yesterday 21 July 2024

Re: Sideslipping through the UK
I heard via the grapevine that there was a 262 flying on Thursday/Friday. I don’t suppose you caught it?
I must be living under a rock- I didn’t know we had an airworthy 262 in the country…

Re: Sideslipping through the UK
I have not been adding to this as often as would like to but perhaps with the miserable weather on the way I will be spending more time at the computer processing pictures.
Moving on to "Midlands air festival 2024" near Warwick. This is the 2nd time I have attended the show ant it is probably one of my favourite on the UK airshow calendar. It is a very relaxed atmosphere and there is usually something interesting and unusual to see. The SAAB Draken being the highlight with the DC6B being a close second.
I love the Gnat and was really looking forward to the display as I have never seen one fly. The display was all of 2 passes so I was caught out somewhat as I thought I had ample opportunity to catch a better shot but then it was all over too soon. I stood next to a Gnat at a museum fairly recently and was surprised by the size. It is a tiny aircraft.
The Red Arrows also never disappoint despite seeing them several times a year.
The Draken display mostly showed off the underside of the aircraft. Someone needs to have a little word in the pilots ear...
