The
@PolarisProgram
mission readiness review just finished and we are currently go for launch in just over 24 hours.
Crew safety is absolutely paramount and this mission carries more risk than usual, as it will be the furthest humans have traveled from Earth since Apollo and the first commercial spacewalk!
If any concerns arise, the launch will be postponed until those concerns are addressed.

Going to be very interesting. The Dragon crew cabin and controls are going to undergo a new series of extremes. From a pure Oxygen internal atmosphere, to hard vacuum and back again. EVA without an airlock creates quite a few technical challenges.GrahamW wrote: ↑Mon Aug 26, 2024 4:50 pm Elon Musk

Re: Polaris Dawn and SpaceX Mission
The Polaris Dawn mission, organized by billionaire entrepreneur Jared Isaacman, was set to lift off early Tuesday from NASA's Kennedy Space Center, but is now targeting early Wednesday after a ground-side helium leak on the Quick Disconect umbilical. SpaceX is now targeting Wednesday August 28th.

Re: Polaris Dawn and SpaceX Mission
Oops. After a hard landing of a booster yesterday, the FAA has grounded the Falcon fleet until further notice. So expect at least a 14 day wait for this flight.

Re: Polaris Dawn and SpaceX Mission
FAA is being remarkably un-obstructive. Removed the grounding late yesterday, and Falcon flights re-started this morning.
No new schedule for Polaris published yet, but expect it to be soon.

Re: Polaris Dawn and SpaceX Mission
They going to struggle to find a workable launch window this week. Seems bad weather lingering at the recovery sites. They operating on tight margins given the parameters of the orbit so those recovery sites have to have good weather outlooks for at least 5 days
