Re: FADD Dundee airfield
I was at the Dundee airfield a number of times between Oct '23 and March '24, so this info is almost a year old.
The runway and parking area is usable, but the community have broken the fencing down in places, and are grazing cattle on the airfield. The tar surface is also breaking up in places.
I recommend caution. Insurance might have a problem with this if one collides with an animal (or person) when using this airfield.
Pity, as it's a good strip, and well situated.
There's a really nice (+/- 850m) grass strip at Battlefields Country Lodge & Sports Resort, about 5km out of Dundee, along the R33 toward Vryheid. Depending on your aircraft type, this might be a better option.

Re: FADD Dundee airfield
Hi there
I love in Dunded and am at the airfield every few days (aviation photography), as the previous commenter mentioned the runway is infact usable (although not the best). The biggest problem is grazing livestock and people on the runway. Normally, if I know of a inbound aircraft, I make sure the runway is clear of animals and people. If I can't find the herder I chase them away myself. If you're planning a trip, let me know, I'll be glad to assist. Runway inspection is a must though
