LS1 = 12V 5W lamp (eg indicator lamp from Midas).
RY1 = solenoid
S1 = push button switch
C1 = capacitor bank

No need for timer boards or anything. BUT it assumes the capacitor bank has enough punch to do the weld on its own.

Also, this is spitballing - never tried this, but it looks like it should work.
