Yesterday was the Annual Volunteer Wildfire Services openday.
We end off the day with a foam party on the helipad that the kids just love.

Looks like fun. Are they open to visitors on an ad hoc basis. I'm in CT over Christmas and would love to get some pics. Anyone have directions ?

Newlands fire base is off the M3 signposted as Wildfire Services. You can see the helicopters on the helipad. Go there over a weekend or public holiday ( 13h00 to 18h00 )when the volunteer standby team is on duty and say hi, sure they would be happy to show you around.
