Jabiru Club SA

Just wondering if such a club exists ?

If yes, - then plz pass on the info..

If no, - then why not?

Looking at the amount of new Jabi owners over the last few months, I think it would be a great idea :-
We can organise a once a month Sunday breakfast or get-to-gether, where we can discuss some Jabi safety and other issues.
We can display our a/c (brag 8) )and inspect each others a/c - a few pair of new eyes might be able to point out something that my eyes missed, got accustomed to or just did not know that it might need attention.

Hallo Phillip

Duno of the existence of such a club. Maybe you should speak to Sias Truter (PM me for his info) as he already insures most of the Jabs in SA. He has most the owner info on file and might want to run with it????? Me thinks it is a good idea =D> =D>

Sorry Ben, I forgot about your owners list. Also a great place to start. I have an idea who can run and administer the club for us. I just need to speak to them first. They ARE the Jabi crowd!!!!! I know we are all extremely busy with our own businesses. If we are to do this I think we must do it properly or it will die. So, I will speak to the people I have in mind over the coming weekend. If they are willing I will reveal my idea

But should there be any volunteers, hands up please!!!!

See Phillip Gouws what you have now started again #-o #-o

Hi Guys

Some time ago we investigated starting a jabiru owners website and virtual club for SA owners. We also approached the Avcom moderators and they suggested we use avcom for this, and so the jabbie forum and with it the aircraft type forums were born

Since then we have organised jabbie events such as the Jaunt arranged by Sias, and others. AVCOM has become our de facto virtual club and the easiest way to communicate without the associated admin of a club.

We have a list which I circulate every couple of months, so if I dont have your details yet, please pm me, name, reg, model, e mail and tel no.

I really dont think a club will give us more than avcom already does

Guys just remember such a club takes up a time on admin etc, and we get the same from Avcom

And just look what you guys have achieved. I have never seen such a tight "Family" form so quickly. So this club will not be a replacement or a diversion to this informal club but just an extension with a little more formal structure. I know of a couple of Jab owners that is not avcommers for instance.

I am thinking of:
Welcoming letter with pair of Jabi wings when a person purchase new or used Jabiru with invitation to join the club.
Club insignia
Owners records (Still with BS)

Still on avcom
Regular events organize (notification and invitations)
Trips
News (Monthly News letter)
Advice or help with anything
Notification of service bulletins
Maintenance issues and costing structures
Special insurance for members (As currently with Sias)
Adverts or intention to sell notifications
Discussions forum points or new topics at get-together (as Phillip mentioned)

etc, etc.

So as you can see, not replacing anything, just adding or extending beyond....... Ag! please excuse me as I get exited about anything around Jabi and the people owning and flying them!!!!

Ben, Is there a way for us to combine the two topics. I just started this one on the behalf of Phillip to run the poll? Can you assist?

I like the idea, and would like to propose the following:

Let us combine the two, and let it be something like the "Avcom Jabiru Club"

I am sure we must be able to find somebody that can make us some Jabbie parapharnalia such as wings, sew on badges, caps, coffee mugs, etc etc.

As things stand, we are pretty organised and getting better by the day =D>

I am sure Sias and the Factory would not mind getting involved as well.

PS: Please remember to take the POLL I have set up for Phillip to indicate Y or N under Jabiru club SA. Will try and combine the two topics!!!

When u belong to like for instance the Brits flying club its only the pilot that is getting any recognition :? .....what about us girls behind the senes :?:
We also want to feel that we belong to the family

And please.....I am a girl.......girls T-shirts, girls caps, girls jackets :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
