Dynaero MCR01 PFA

Unread post by Jakez »

HI Collin..,

I regret having to contact you with my problem, but I am truly between a rock and a hard place. I purchased a Dynaero MCR01 which was involved in an accident. Upon landing at Hippo Pool it struck an antelope with the left wing. The Engine (Rotax 912ul 80HP) and damaged MT Propeller was removed and replaced with a Rotax 912uls (100HP) and a Woodcomp 3 Blade Electric VP Propeller. Similar configerations are currently utilised in Dynaeros in Europe and Australia. The damaged wings were designed and rebuilt by Francois Jordaan ( Aero Engineer) and load tested to 4g at 544kg in the presence of Klaus (CAA). All the required paperwork has been submitted to CAA (Klaus). My Problem is this. The plane has cost me R643000 thus far to rebuild by professionals. An email from Dynaero France states that I as owner must take resposiblity for the performance of the Woodcomp Propeller as they normally fit MT Propellers. They do however not object to the use of the Woodcomp. Klaus has now been making this extremely difficult.... to the point where Francois Jordaan has this morning officially withdrawn from the project due to the lack of assistance and results from CAA. I will be happy to forward all correspondance that we have had unitl now. This is a NTCA aircraft which is being treated as a TCA. Please Help...

Best Regards...,

Dear Jaco
As I only respond to questions on Open Door once a month, I believe that our certification department has been in contact with you since you posted this.
Please let me know if you are happy with the interaction that has taken place.
Best regards
Colin

Hi Colin...,
Thanks for your reply... Sad to say that this matter has not yet been resolved... Out of pure frustration I have been calling and speaking to whomever I can at the CAA. With all due respect, there are only 2 people that have been trying to assist me, but unfortunately with no result.. Mary Stephens and Andre Swanepoel are excellent ambassadors for the CAA, Unfortunately I cannot say the same for some of their collegues or the chain of command in between. Out of pure frustration I have now Acquired legal assistance. Francois Jordaan begged me to put any action on hold as he and Klaus are, as he said, "almost done", but once again this was 3 weeks ago :(
After harsh words and fighting last week I was promised to have a result on this past Monday, which did not happen. Yesterday I received a message from Pfumulani:

Dear Jaco,

The subject matter refers:

Klaus is working on the last documentation sent on 13 October 2010, he also had a discussion with Francois Jordaan today in the office relating to the modification. I am assured that you and Francois will be hearing from him soon regarding the documentation review.

Kind regards,
Ms. Pfumelani Ndala
