I flew a World Models Quarter scale Clipped Wing Cub with 26cc RCF using 1800ml fuel from Silverstroom to Velddrif (100km) in 1hr at the 2010 West Coast Long Run, 6 others completed it, the smallest with a .40 GMS motor on a trainer.

George Radio Fyers:

100 Km course was successfully completed by 3 out of 4 planes.

Details:
1. Snr Falcon with .45 Magnum two stroke - 38 Ounces of fuel - just enough, Average speed for the whole 100 km: 83 km/h :D
2. Alpha 60 Trainer with .90 Four stroke - 1.2 litres of fuel, only used about 900 ml, Time was about 85 minutes :D
3. 40 Trainer with .52 Four stroke - left with about another 30 minutes of fuel after completing the course :D
4. 40 Trainer with .46 two stroke - Completed only about 87 km with fuel available :(

Will definitely be done again next year 8-[

Welkom Model Aircraft Club has in the past flown from Bloem to Welkom (_+ 160km) and there were aircraft that completed the trip without landing in between
(without refueling)
