How much is A/C radio license (ICASA) for 2011?

ICASA is the regulator for the South African communications, broadcasting and postal services sector. At this stage, this section is not officially sanctioned by ICASA management and is being monitored on a voluntary basis.

I would guess that there is a government gazette in the offing that increases the annual fee with effect from 1 April and so they are holding out until then.

Yip, that time of the year again. had to transfer two licences so I decided rather to go to ICASA and find out exactly what they want...

How much is A/C radio license (ICASA) for 2011?

Unread post by Thys Bas »

Does anybody have an idea how much mula we have to transfer to ICASA for Aeronautical Radio Station for 2011 please. Is it R48 again like 2010? They have not sent out accounts again, as last year, and mine expires 31 Dec 2010.

Thank You

I pay them every year for my 2 aircraft. They send me the licence for the one but never the other. I go there every year to try sort it out and every time its a different person.

Just make sure you have proof of payment for your licence in your aircraft.

Did you get a renewal notice ? If so, when (ie do I just do a transfer and hope, or do I have to go to Pinmil and shout at someone ? )

I trolled their website, but could not find a word about the amount or the change to the license duration. :( :(

I am in the same boat, so 'phoned them last week. Invoices have not yet been sent out but I was told to pay R12 which would buy a licence valid until the end of March, then there would be a fee increase to R120pa. and licences would then be valid over the ICASA financial year - ie April to end March. When I challenged the big increase it was pointed out there had been no increases since about 1997.
