"‎#sling - Jean and James are down safely after an exhausting and hectic flight dealing with storms and an in-flight fuel pump blockage. They are refuelling and getting through passport control and then off to a hotel. Well done guys."

Well done!! What an achievement! That's one moer of a distance to fly in a little Rotax powered experimental. Over the Indian Ocean. At night. Through the ITCZ. Without weather radar...or HF....or satcoms.

I concede - your testicles are bigger.

Wow! Each leg is more difficult

First a thunderstorm and a crazy autopilot, and now fuel pump problems and no satellite tracker.

It can only go easier from now on.

We're down, we're in a dicey hotel, we've have some beers and we're too tired to write.

Here's a bit of a photo essay in the meantime.

You call that dodgy? That hotel room is 5 star compared to the places I stay when travelling in Africa. Congrats and Keep Flying Safe!!!

I think that the little engine has earnt the right to be no longer referred to as "Rattex" I wonder if the Jabi engine could have been fitted new out of the box and flown around the World.

ABSOLUTELY!!! When I read that the guys were down safely I had a lump in my throat!!!! I was extremely concerned about their welfare and "popped in" many times to get this welcomed news. As Jim says you guys are aviation heroes!!! =D> =D> =D>

4680Km and 20.5 hrs! - why is Rotax not sponsoring this flight?

I have a new respect for the Rotax after this feat of endurance. Also the Sling4 - it is amazing that you can seemingly just keep loading more and more fuel aboard!

With a few mods perhaps you guys could attempt a non-stop around the world flight!
