As a matter of interest the Sling 4 (ZU-TAF) has the same power plant and Constant speed prop as ZU-IRR, namely the Rotax 914 Turbo and the Airmaster 72" prop.

Thanks for the compliments!!

Here are a few photos to show the versatility of the Kitfox 7. It is a perfect bush aircraft to fly into very restricted landing areas.

Is the Kitfox available in South Africa as ready to fly, or do you have to inport and build the kit?

Steyl, the Kitfox has to be imported from America in a kit form, however, a quick build is also available, which is the way to go!! There are people who will build the kit for you here in RSA and you can try “Boet” here on Avcom if you are serious about having one built. Note: A well equipped Kitfox 7 is not a cheap option but you will have one of the finest, STOL, 2 – seater aircraft available and it is not too shabby when it comes to X-country flying. I average about 120 mph which is Vno for this aircraft. And my fuel consumption is 16.5 litres per hour. I hope this helps and good luck.

I see you are based in Hazyview and ZU-IRR is based in Barberton, you are welcome to come and visit her!!

You can be proud of your Fox, I was impressed with her short take of roll and climb rate.
Nice meeting you and your son yesterday, hope to see you again in Piet Retief.
