Snoopy,
I had the pleasure of spending Friday at FASH, the first time I had been there. This is probably the best flying club I have seen in SA, what a beautifull setting and great club, and the lunch was fantastic. I look forward to going back to this part of the world.

Ettiene she's a Fairchild 24R-46A. Graseful old bird...

Andy thanks for the compliments...yup it sure is a great flying club and a spectacular setting. I'm often amazed at how somedays this field is abuzz with pilots from all over the world, literally...very interresting people flying all types of aircraft.

I had a surprise visit over the deck this week by a lovely Centurion...must have been an AVCOMer.

Glad you guys enjoy the feedback on FASH and the aircraft...

This is the new obstacle to be aware of on approach on RWY 01 at FASH...

Swallow has published this on the clubs website so make sure you make a note of this when taking off from RW 19 and landing on RW 01.

Oh and dont miss our very own Namaqualand daisy display currently featuring next to the taxiway on the 01 end of the field.

Chiao.

Dancing the Lambada

A very interesting ultra light motorised glider made its appearance at Stellenbosch this weekend.

She's a Urban Air S.R.O. UFM-13 LAMBADA another from the same designers of the Samba.

Spirit of Freedom...Like the Afro-Brazilian dance of love, I guess flying her must be fun and energetic.

This one is pretty unique though

Have a closer look. (was wondering if anyone had noticed it)

Yup, its a dome camera fitted into the wing....must be some pretty amazing aerial footage from this bird.

I recon these can make damn good surveillance a/c ; they can fly pretty slow...and I've seen similar types (maybe a Pipistrel Sinus and Virus, but most likely a Check' type) used for traffic monitoring in Europe

Well Spring is here...and its hot in Stellies...but I think the pilots are all at Vredendal...

Harvard apparantly picked up a snag...so she only did one flip....all in all a quiet day.

Bly om te hoor die "tip" het gewerk met die lens...

I've seen some strange things at airfields, but this one takes the cake so far...anyone have a clue what this chap is steering down FASH's taxiway?

Could it be a motorised tow bar thingy?...it was running under own steam.

Good to see the J3 Cub, ZS-BCV, again. I used to fly her from FACT back in the 80's when she belonged to Dietlind Lempp.
