KZN Regional Aerobatic Championships
Ladysmith will be hosting the KZN Regional Aerobatic Championships on the 26th and 27th of May. There are a record number of entries for KZN of 31 pilots in classes ranging from Graduate through to Unlimited. It’s a great event to visit with on sight restaurant and great public viewing areas.
We will be uploading pics and results
Hope to see you there

Re: KZN Regional Aerobatic Championships
Clive, there will be a full day's flying on Saturday and Sunday will probably finish around lunchtime, to allow for prizegiving and for the Jhb guys to be able to fly back before sunset.
Look forward to seeing you there.
Mike

Hey Guys,
Where is it being staged , don't know Ladysmith, went to 3SAI not 5 SAI.
Is it at the airfield on the right as you approach the turn off to Ladysmith, from Escourt
'Till later,
Arthur.

Re: KZN Regional Aerobatic Championships
29 Keate street is smack bang in the centre of town at the Engineers Department! The airport is next to the Ladysmith Motel opposite the NPA traffic offices on the Durban/Colenso road.

Re: KZN Regional Aerobatic Championships
Ok so weather is amazing, great turn out and the planes......wow.
First day is over, everyone flew 2 rounds a known sequence which is selected by a governing body as a standard sequence to fly and a free sequence which is designed by each pilot to suite their style of flying and thier planes. Some new aerobatic graduates have flown their first contest and done very well, namely Raanan Tidhar and Larry Van Der Merwe son of Larry snr one of the locals here, both pilots are from Durban showing a growth in aerobatics down by the sea.
With the Advanced team selected to go to the worlds in July an instructor came out from Russia to help boost the level and boy are the scores consistent and high, don't know how us mortals will reach them but well done guys
Tomorrow will be 4 classes flying, sportsman, intermediate, advanced and unlimited. We will all be flying an unkown sequence which is given to us the evening before preventing us from practising. I have posted a picture of the advanced unknown sequence for tomorrow to give you an idea of what is expected.
As soon as I get back I will post shots of the event, planes and people.
